When you look at the word count on your project, you might see a number that varies from the word count on your main dashboard. Why is that?
Answer:
Your Project list shows a word count that is based on the sum of all source strings in the project. This number is the actual list of all words in your entire project.
However, the language dashboard word count shows sum of word count of strings that are associated to files. So, if you have source strings in your project that have been manually added, sometimes the number in your language dashboard may be different (smaller) than what you see in your project listing.
Solution:
We recommend using the project word count to avoid confusion. We will be correcting this in future upgrades of the OneSky platform, but if you are reading this article, the issue still exists for now.
Most projects will not have that much difference between the two word counts. Also, the word count on your dashboard shows a rough (rounded) number (i.e. 1.5k words) so you may not notice a subtle difference i the word counts unless the number of words added to your project not associated to files is more significant.
